Well, we're finally here - the first blog!! There's been a bunch of thoughts bouncin' around in my head as to what it is specifically that I want to say on this, and there were conflictions about the best way that I'd be able to convey it. Afterall, it isn't as if I've done any of these before - I definitely want to make sure that it's delivered well!! I think after weeks of contemplating though I came up with a way to word it that works well though, so here we go!!
Honestly, it's wild that after all of this time of working on this site that this is happening... it's been over a year since I decided to take the dive into trying bring this to life, and despite all of the problems and challenges that came about throughout the process that left me in deep ruts, I'm proud that I was able to pull this off. I don't think I would've been able to do it if it wasn't for HomieMace - he's the friend that I talked to about helping me fix things up at a time when everything was broken and I was essentially on the brink of giving up outright. I brought up the idea of bringing it up to him.. I think it was sometime around the start of the year? But because I'm sorta terrible when it comes to communication sometimes (that might be a bit of an understatement, maybe) it wasn't until last month that I went out of my way to talk about it. After chatting about what I was experiencing we called together, and he screenshared his troubleshooting. To put into perspective as to how horrible it was, it took well over 5 hours of work to fully remedy the functionality issues and apply improvements along the way. By the time he was finished, the website looked a whole lot different than what it did before, I was blown away!! I'm genuinely really grateful for his efforts. There's a good chance he's going to continue contributing a feature or two as we get further along, so be sure to support him!! He's over in the credits if you want to check him out!!
There's still absolutely bugs that've stuck around, but to be coy, getting things "good enough" is something that I've struggled with through my time as a creator, so I think being able to release things is one of the best things you can do. To be okay with the results, to be okay with realizing that, with whatever comes of it you can expand upon it, that you are able to grow and get better, that isn't the end all be all. Through deciding to push it out to the public when I did, there's a lot of things that I've learned about that I wouldn't've learned about otherwise, not to mention I've made newfound connections!!
It isn't only me that's benefitted too, of course - there's a couple people in the community that, thanks to this, are wanting to work on their own again, or start their own, and that's so cool. That's one of the reasons why I do this, to leave a positive & lasting impact on others, and it makes me really happy whenever I see that I made some sort of mark on someone else, with whatever is they want to do themselves. A good example of this is Adamng's NormalNNN list. Created a couple days ago, this is a chart that lays out all of the current known No Miss No Bomb's on Normal mode. Seeing as that's one of the things I specialize in, urs truly is on there!! It sorta came out of the blue, I'm crazy bewildered that something like this is out there - I think in all regards it's an invalauble resource with how much the highest difficulty overshadows the rest of them. Please support them if possible!!
Anyway, I think that's about it for me. Thank you so much for all of your feedback and sweet messages in these couple of weeks since, I can't believe it!! I'll be trying my best to take care of the current flaws there are in the code while also progressing with a few features I'm planning on putting in, such as a site directory!! If there's anything you'd like to add, then feel free to reach out to me on the guestbook or in contact, I'll get to you when I can!! Hope you have an excellent day everyone!! See y'all!!
